Lithuanian Association of Telephone Emergency Services (LATES) unifies 21 working in Lithuania voluntary and professional telephone emergency services. The function of LATES services is to provide the anonymous psychological aid by telephone. A lot of LATES services broaden their activity: seek for the status of centers of crises and suicides intervention, work as community centers, providing social-psychological support, execute the prevention of drug addiction, violence; take part in educational work. The members of LATES are the services, working on the crises' intervention and suicides' prevention.
The Association represents the interests of its members in institutions of local and central authorities, seeks to ensure the high quality of providing services and easier accessibility of them for clients, develops international collaboration, etc.
